New Orthodontic Technology
Now Available at Gladstone Family Dentistry
You’ve seen the advertisements and heard about the technology of “invisible braces” – now you can experience for yourself the possibility of straight teeth at any age without metal brackets or wires.
Our practice philosophy at Gladstone Family Dentistry is to provide you with comfortable, long-lasting, beautiful dentistry that puts you in charge of your treatment. In order to help our patients achieve their dental goals, we are now offering Invisalign treatment – one of the most exciting current developments in orthodontic dentistry.
Invisalign treatment consists of a series of removable, clear, plastic aligners that put gentle pressure on your teeth to straighten them over time. Most cases last about 1 year. You wear the aligners 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and only remove them to eat, drink, brush, and floss. You keep your regular cleaning appointments with your dental hygienist during treatment since the aligners are completely removable.
Invisalign costs are similar to or slightly less than traditional orthodontic treatment depending on how extensive your case is and how many aligners will be required. Insurance plans cover Invisalign the same way they would cover metal braces. We will work with you, your insurance, and third parties to make straight teeth affordable to you and your family.
Since we are a general dentistry office, we keep your long-term dental care in view while helping you straighten your teeth Ask our staff today about Invisalign – some of us have had treatment and can even show you our aligners. Our newest associate, Dr. Jeremy Kato, has had extensive training with the Invisalign technology and is always happy to give free consultations. Set up your consultation today to see if you are a candidate for Invisalign treatment.
The 5 Most Common Raves about Invisalign
As compared to traditional braces
- Easier Cleanings
Since the Invisalign aligners are completely removable, you can brush and floss like normal. Your hygienist will appreciate the fact that you can remove your aligners for your cleaning appointments.
- More predictable
The computer-assisted manufacture of aligners eliminates much of the guesswork that is involved in orthodontics. We can often predict to the week when your Invisalign treatment will start and when it will end. The computer models help us gauge on a week to week basis if the teeth are moving the way we want them to.
- Less time in treatment
Average Invisalign cases take about 12 months. Cases with traditional braces sometimes last for 18 to 24 months or more.
- Less tooth discomfort
Most of the tooth soreness associated with tooth movement is limited to the first few hours after changing to a new aligner. You should not feel discomfort past the first day of a new aligner. It is not uncommon for patients with traditional braces to feel sore for 3 or 4 days after an adjustment. The inside of your mouth will be comfortable since the aligners are made of smooth plastic –no metal brackets to cut the inside of your lips or cheeks.
- Cosmetics
Aligner therapy is nearly invisible and even goes unnoticed by some co-workers and family members. If the occasion arises, you could even remove the aligners for a short time while attending a social event.
